Quaint, convenient and Affordable- The southeast quadrant of Rochester This is our smallest and most affordable quadrant. It's also where all the fun happens. The southeast Rochester quadrant is where you'll find the Rochester Public Library, Olmsted County Fairgrounds and Hockey Complex, Rochester Civic Theater, Mayo Convention Center, Rochester Community and Technical College and our football, softball and baseball complexes. The 55904 zip code covers all of Rochester's southeast quadrant so locals sometimes just call it "04". Locals say "Southeast" but will always write "SE" so you'll know you're in the area when the streets and avenues end in "SE". Highway 63 turns into Broadway Avenue and manages the north and south traffic through this quadrant while Highway 14 East manages the east to west traffic.
Uniquely beautiful -- The part of SE Rochester that is close to downtown is filled with small, custom built homes from the 1920-1960s. These are some of the most uniquely beautiful homes of yester-year that you will find in the City of Rochester and they are also some of the most affordable. As you cross Highway 14 East to the south the homes get a bit larger and were likely built in the 1960s-1990s. The newest homes are being built to the far south and east in neighborhoods such as Forest Knoll, Hundred Acre Woods and Cambridge Hills.
